Thank you for visiting the SNOCOM website.  We are honored to serve as the link between those calling for help and the police officers and firefighters who respond.  We understand when someone contacts 911, they expect a quick and professional response.  Our dedicated employees strive to meet this expectation every single call, every single day.  Our core values include: Professionalism, Dedication, Integrity, Empathy, Teamwork, and Innovation.  I am very proud to work with men and women who embody these values on a daily basis.

In addition to our employees, SNOCOM has a long standing history of working closely with our community, member agencies, and other regional partners.  We leverage these relationships to provide the best service possible.  If anyone is interested in learning more about SNOCOM, I invite you to contact any member of our management team.

The SNOCOM Operations Managers are responsible for the oversight of all dispatch employees and the day to day operations of the dispatch floor. We share responsibilities but are also assigned to either police operations or fire operations. Just a few of our day to day duties include training, scheduling and personnel matters involving dispatch staff. We are also responsible for the reporting of call taking and dispatching performance statistics, as well as interacting with our member agencies and the citizens to assure the best possible customer service is provided. As Operations Managers we are on call 24/7 for major incidents or staffing /personnel issues.

In addition to the shared responsibilities with Operations Manager McKay, I serve as the SNOCOM liaison to our police agencies. My duties include serving on the police communications committee and being the direct contact for our police agencies for anything related to their interactions with SNOCOM. This group meets regularly to discuss policy and procedural issues and makes recommendations to the Police Tactical Advisory Committee (TAC) for updates to existing policy.   I am also the Operations Manager assigned to oversee training at SNOCOM. This includes new hire training and ongoing in-service and/or continuing education training for all dispatch staff.

As the current Fire Liaison Operations Manager I serve on the communications committee with our fire member agencies. The Fire Operations Committee will make operational recommendations to our Tactical Advisory Committees who have the authority to approve changes to our current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). I also oversee the Tactical Dispatch Team (START) and the staffing/scheduling of the dispatchers.

The SNOCOM Information Technology (IT) team is responsible for supporting the internal needs of administration and dispatch operations. In addition, the IT team supports the needs of our member agencies. These technologies and services are supported by IT staff who rotate on-call duties to provide 24x7 emergency support.

We are proud of how closely we work with our agencies to deliver the core services needed by our first responders. We often work with agency technical staff to implement new technology or troubleshoot existing systems. In fact, many of the projects we work on are born directly from the needs of our members. In this way we consider ourselves to be an extension of, or in partnership with, our member agency IT staff.

Some examples of the technologies we support include:

  • Police/Fire Records Management Systems (RMS)
  • Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
  • Fire Station Notification System
  • 911 Telephony Mapping System
  • Police/Fire Mobile CAD
  • 911 Telephone & Recording Systems
